North Central Florida is mainly sunny year 'round.
Temperature highs range from 90 to 105 degrees in the
summer and from 50 to 70 in the winter. Extreme
highs and lows do fall outside these ranges, but on rare
occasions only.
On average, there are many rainy days throughout the
year in North Central Florida, with some thunderstorms
rising to severe levels. North Central Florida is
the lightning capital of the United States. The
particular stretch in which this Chamber of Commerce
covers has the most lightning strikes each year of
anywhere else in the US.
